Who are you and why this?

Hello everyone! My name is Pearl and I take up space in this world as an Indigenous woman, a friend, a daughter, a life-long learner and an educator.
I was lucky enough to grow up in the Coast Salish region which includes both Washington State and the lower mainland of British Columbia, Canada.
I am pursuing a career in multilingual elementary education and adapting social justice reform to promote the Indigenous wellness initiative.
Through my work I hope to allow space for sustainable community models to grow. I love spending my time outdoors, traveling, cooking, working with children and advocating for political justice reform within our education system.
