Creativity

One of the most important things for children to learn is to express themselves creatively. Art doesn't simply mean drawing on paper, creating a video or using technology as a substitution for paper. The arts encompasses music (both instrumental and vocal), language, science, math, drawing, and performance arts such as dancing, acting, singing. Art can be taught through nature and has the possibility to heal. When art and artistic practices are nurtured and encouraged, healing becomes possible within our communities.

Children who are able to express themselves through some form of the arts have higher test scores across the board. It is extremely important that schools have the funding to pay for quality materials and teachers that can have a significant impact on the children. Art education provides students with vital skills that improves their cognition and problem-solving skills. Future employers look for candidates who are literate and can be creative in how they go about their day to day activities.
