Land-Based Education: An Intro

We need to talk about the ways in which we are thinking about farm restoration, land restoration, healthy and sustainable farming practices, organic farming, farm sustainability, nutrition. All of these things are important because they have an effect on our minds and our bodies. If we do not provide our mind, body and spirit with the ingredients to function properly...then how are you supposed to learn how to think straight?

We must be better. Moving forward, if we approach each other with respect and understanding then we can learn from one another. It is important to have a mutual understanding of the goals that you have set for yourself and your communities when starting projects like this. These projects include everybody. Every person's voice matters and every vote counts. I don't care what your opinion is, I just want to hear your opinion to try to understand your way of seeing the world. Your intersectional identities make up your perspective and it's important to hold space for those to be seen and heard. I don't want to fight with people especially over politics.

This concept of farm restoration is based on the changes and practices that we all want to see implemented. We all want the same things. We are all human. We all require the same basic necessities to live, survive, thrive and be in healthy relations with those around us.

When talking about farm restoration and restorative practices, we have to think first about how we can heal all the damage that has been done. Land-based education teaches us how we can better take care of the land in order to provide us with an abundance of the resources we need to survive.

Nature provides us with the necessities for our survival. We must honor and respect the land.
