Why is a hyperdoc important and what can it do to actually improve my lesson plans in class?
A hyperdoc is an online document that allows you to share information with your students and with any other teachers you feel would benefit from the work you have done. These documents are great ways for teachers to create whole lessons ahead of time that allow students to work at their own pace. They allow the freedom in your schedule to stress less about coming up with substitute instructions as everything would already be laid out in order. Teaching is all about collaboration with other professionals and it is easier when done in a community rather than in a more individualistic society. By creating, using and sharing hyperdocs, educators have the ability to reach more students and get inspired by other educators to grow and continue to learn together.
Here is a lesson plan template that I have used in my elementary education program in order to create some of my 5E lesson plans through Thinglink.*
Here I have linked an excellent blog written by Jennifer Gonzalez that explains some more of the benefits to a hyperdoc and shows some examples.
Below is a video on YouTube explaining a little bit more about why hyperdocs are important.
