4 month reflection

Oh boy. The past 4 months have been crazy! I have traveled from Coast Salish territory on the west coast to Aucocisco / Abnaki territory on the east coast. I have driven through 36 out of 48 states in the continental United States, from the northwest corner of Washington State to Maine.

I have had the most amazing experiences finding places to hike and explore nature throughout the country. I had an unexpectedly long stay in Michigan as I had an employment opportunity at Pond Hill Farms. This family run farm is located in Harbor Springs, Michigan on a beautiful corner plot of land overlooking Lake Michigan. This was such an amazing experience and I am so excited to be working with them on future projects.

On this trip I have been taking videos and pictures of the places I have visited. Part of the work that I have been doing has been to reconnect the land we live on to the traditional Native tribes that have history in those territories. By exploring in nature and observing weather systems I have found ways to connect back to traditional land based healing practices. My work will continue to grow as I gain more information about the specific tribes in the area I will learn how they connect to their traditional practices.

The app that I have been using to determine what traditional Native territory I am inhabiting is the " Native Land " app available for both Apple and Android devices. They have links to more information about the tribe on the map. I make sure to double check the area before posting about the tribe and if I made any mistakes, I would appreciate if someone corrected me as I want to be authentic in the information I put out.

There is a part of me that didn't want to come home. I don't want to rejoin the world in its current state. COVID cases have spiked over the last two weeks and today the CDC has announced that the recommended quarantine time may decrease to 7-10 with the same validity in results as the 14 day isolation we have been used to. For more information on this new update, click the link to the CDC website here.

Thanks for following along on this journey! Don't forget to check out and subscribe to my YouTube channel to see all the amazing places I have seen.
